A Designer by Your Side, Exactly When You Need One
Bring your ideas, your questions and the decisions you’ve been putting off. Designer for a Day puts more than 25 years of design experience by your side, without a full-service commitment. Choose a Half Day or Full Day at home, in a showroom, on site or virtually, and make beautiful progress with expert guidance.

A great design day starts with a great list. Designer for a Day brings focused expertise to the rooms, selections and decisions that deserve your attention, helping you make the most of your time and move forward with confidence.
Which paint color belongs on the wall? Does that fabulous sofa actually fit? Will the countertop work with the cabinetry? Bring the questions, including the ones you’ve been circling for weeks. This is your time to get clear, thoughtful guidance and make decisions.
ARRIVE INSPIRED
Before your appointment, prioritize what matters most. Gather plans, photographs, inspiration images, samples, estimates and selections you’re considering. The more useful information you bring, the more productive the session can be.
Your day might cover furniture layouts, lighting, plumbing fixtures, tile, stone, appliances, window treatments or architectural plans. Or we can focus on the room that has all the right pieces but still hasn’t quite come together.
CHOOSE A HALF DAY
A great fit for a specific room, a defined set of selections, a showroom visit or focused plan review. Give the decisions at the top of your list the attention they deserve.
CHOOSE A FULL DAY
More time for larger projects, multiple rooms, construction selections, builder design center appointments or visits to several showrooms. Perfect when your inspiration folder is overflowing and your decision list isn’t far behind.
MEET WHERE IT MATTERS
Sessions can take place at your home, the Lancaster showroom, your project site, a tile showroom or stone yard, or a builder’s design center.
Traveling or planning a second home from afar? Meet virtually. Wherever the session happens, the goal is the same: make smart decisions and bring your vision into focus.
Use the time for any of the following. Not everything can be accomplished in one session, which is why a prioritized agenda makes the day considerably more productive.
Paint and color selections
Furniture layouts and selections
Lighting and plumbing
Tile, stone, flooring and countertops
Kitchen and bathroom guidance
Cabinetry and appliance selections
Window treatments, fabrics and wallpaper
Architectural or builder plan review
Remodeling and new construction decisions
Builder design center appointments
Supplier and slab yard visits
Second opinions
Virtual design consultations
Meetings with builders and contractors

You leave with the decisions we made together. Designer for a Day is intentionally a live consulting service: the advice, ideas, selections and decisions made during the appointment are the deliverable.
Take notes and photographs, because you’re responsible for implementing the recommendations afterward. Formal drawings, specifications, sourcing documents, shopping lists and follow-up design work aren’t included unless separately arranged.
Basic preparation is included. If your session needs extensive plan review, advance sourcing or sample gathering, we’ll discuss additional preparation time before the appointment.
No. There’s no product-purchase minimum for Designer for a Day.
If your session leads to cabinetry, window treatments, furnishings or another Lancaster service, we can discuss that separately.
We offer a limited number of Designer for a Day appointments each month, but we’ll always try to accommodate time-sensitive design decisions as quickly as possible.
